About
The 243 Tuscany Scouts operate in the Tuscany community of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Kids between 5 and 18 years of age enjoy the programs organized by the Beaver, Cub, Scout and Venturer sections. We even have a Rover section for youth over 18 years of age. It is a well known fact that it takes a village to raise a child. The commitment of our volunteers is to help the kids to shape their program, teach new skills, while having fun doing it.
Kub Kar Rally 2012 a highlight of the year
After weeks of building Beaver Buggies, Kub Kars and Scout Trucks, all sections of the 243 Tuscany Scout group gathered for their yearly Kub Kar Rally. The individual groups competed for the best time, and there were real trophies for the first, second and third place in each category. The winner of each category even got a huge trophy they can keep until next year's race. The final round was the "Open Category" where Venturers and Leaders got a chance to show off their creation. Thanks to Scouter Shelley for bringing this annual event to a new high!

Thanks Tuscany for the Bottles and Cans!
Thanks to the Tuscany Community residents in Calgary for donating their empty bottles and cans. Because of your generosity, the Tuscany Scouts group is able to offer the boys and girls in our community an amazing youth program. Keep those empty bottles and cans earmarked for us as we will be back to knock on your door in the fall :-)
Calgary Tactical Police Unit teaches Tuscany Scouts a lesson
Calgary, March 23 2012, the Calgary Tactical Police unit surprised the Tuscany Cubs, Scouts and Venturers with an in depth demonstration of their trade. Constable Roy explained what it means to be in this elite unit with a lot of passion and enthusiasm. His team was able to show up with the Armored Rescue Vehicle, and the bomb truck. The kids got to see the vehicles inside and got an amazing demonstration of the various robots used by the unit. Scouter Rene commented that this was by far the best event involving city officials in his ten year leader experience. A big thank you to constable Roy and his team for this unforgettable experience!
Nerf Night was lots of fun!
Our first ever Nerf Night for the Scout and Venturer sections was definitely a lot of fun. After some target practice trying to shoot objects on a table and creating cardboard shields it was time to split in to two groups. The curtain divider in the Tuscany Club gym was closed and both teams got some time to prepare their defences. Once the lights went out and the curtain opened the teams battled for their honour! After the event was over the only thing we heard was "We have to got to do that again!!!" with a big grin on their faces. Sorting all bullets turned out to be quite a bit of work. It is safe to assume that this was the first night of a new yearly tradition!
